What should be assessed before under-eye fat repositioning?

Fat removal and repositioning are suited to patients with relatively good skin elasticity, bulging eye bags, and tear-trough hollows. They can also improve dark circles for a natural, younger look. The degree of fat protrusion and skin laxity must be assessed. If pigmentation is present, additional brightening laser treatment may be needed after surgery.

Will under-eye fat repositioning make the aegyo-sal disappear?

The aegyo-sal is formed by a natural prominence of the eye muscle and is not disturbed during eye-bag surgery. As under-eye fat is adjusted and the skin reattaches, it may look smoother and more defined.

Can the procedure be scarless?

Because the approximately 1 cm incision is made in the conjunctiva inside the lower eyelid, there is essentially no visible scar and no suture removal is required.
